SIt's July....which means we made it through the glorious, crazy busy whirlwind that is June. Of course it was even crazier than usual this year with Brexit, but whether you were in or out, we are all still here to tell the tale, and still cooking up a storm. Hats off to our amazing kitchen team, who have worked solidly, and with barely a day off, without melting into a puddle of chef whites on the locker room floor (though how I do not know)!

We have catered for almost 3,000 people over the past 4 weeks, in private homes, historic venues and even our own professional kitchen. Highlights included Trooping of the Colour, a three day event for Chanel, the Harris Girls School Summer Ball, an Awards Ceremony at the Horniman Conservatory and of course many, many unique and very special weddings.

You can tell it is holiday season as unusually we still have seats available for our July Supper Club, it is one of our Filippo Berio sponsored evenings so all guests will leave with an amazing bag of goodies. It is only a week aways so do book quickly via this link.

Sail into Summer! Cutty Sark July Offer

FThe Cutty Sark is the world's last surviving tea clipper. The ship is a glorious monument to the age of sail and to all those who lost their lives in the merchant service. Situated on the shore of the Thames River the ship provides commanding views over Canary Wharf and the City of London.

The Weather Deck is a stunning location for a drinks reception for up to 100 people. From 1st to the 31st July it can be hired at the discounted rate of £3,500 plus VAT for event hours from 6pm - 9pm.

A Sting in the Tale!

They may be seasonal and locally sourced, but eating nettles isn't most people's idea of fun. It was all in an hours work though at the annual World Nettle Eating Championships last month.

The bizarre competition takes place at the Bottle Inn pub in the village of Marshwood, Dorset, and sees dozens of challengers line up to eat as many 2ft long stalks of nettles as possible in an hour.

Phil Thorne, a chef, beat off the nearest challenger by consuming 86ft of stinging nettles. It is the second time Phil has won the title in three years.
Some 40 people entered the competition which first started in 1997 after a local farmer lost a bet with another over who had the longest nettles, with the loser having to eat a whole stem.
Phil, from Colyton, Devon, said: "It doesn't hurt as much as you might think, you just get a tingling around your mouth".
