The Fan Museum is housed in an elegant and lovingly restored early Georgian listed town house. With its gracious architecture, and the remarkable Orangery, it provides the perfect setting for smaller functions and intimate wedding celebrations. There are two large rooms on the ground floor, and two spacious galleries on the first floor, plus the enchanting Orangery. This venue is often described as an oasis of tranquility.
The Orangery is decorated with a mural by Jane Barraclough which gives the room a wonderful atmosphere. It overlooks what is surely one of the most unexpected and magical gardens in South London with its paved parterre, fan shaped flower beds, pond, stream and architectural features and plantings in the Japanese manner.
Formal dining in the Orangery preceded by a reception in the Museum and a private tour can accommodate up to 30 guests. Alternatively, receptions for up to 80 people can be held within the Museum and Orangery, with refreshments ranging from drinks and canapés to a four course dinner.
